Jail or Prison Art" are works of art submited by or for inmates in the states prison systems. here are many talented artists incarcerated. This type of art, express' the
true, inner feelings experienc of the inmates .
Jail art tells a story of the person doing the art. In the prison system, artists are very
limited on the mediums they are permitted to use. This is due to prison regulations and lack of funds to purchase something as simple as a pencil or eraser. Paper is also a restricted
comodity and hard to come by. yet the prisoners continue to produce beautiful
and complicated works of Art to share .
